Your role

As Procurement Intern - SPX Xpress, you have to do the following tasks:

• Process purchase requests on a daily basis, which includes understanding requirements, sourcing, RFQ (Request for Quotation), comparison of quotes, awarding contracts, invoice processing, and coordination.
• Assist in overall vendor management, including conducting background checks, onboarding vendors, maintaining communications and coordination, managing vendor statements of accounts, ensuring timely invoicing and payment processing, and engaging in discussions when necessary.
• Coordinate purchasing activities with related departments/teams and requestors to ensure smooth and efficient procurement processes.
• Monitor and track purchases and expense reports on a weekly basis, including performing cost analyses and evaluating suppliers' performance.
• Collaborate closely with the Finance team to ensure timely and accurate invoice and payment processing.
• Collaborate with the Legal team to develop contracts for some category spending that aligns with the contract policy.
• Assist in troubleshooting any issues related to the sourcing process.
• Provide support in project work involving Request for Information (RFI) and/or Request for Proposal (RFP) processes and participate in special task forces, when required.
• Assist and support the procurement team in various areas whenever needed.

Training & development

About you

If you are interested to join Shopee Malaysia for this position, you have to meet the following qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in any related major field
• Willing to travel to the warehouse (around Klang Valley) when necessary
• Required computer skill(s):  Intermediate in Microsoft Excel
• Able to navigate around procurement systems or ERPs
• Good negotiation and analytic skills, proactive and willing to learn
• Basic understanding of P2P (purchasing to payment)
