Your role

The SeaMoney team enables and drives innovation by providing a range of financial products and services, including its mobile wallet, ShopeePay, to both individuals and SMEs. Its mission is to better the lives of individuals and businesses in the region with financial services through technology. SeaMoney is a part of Sea Limited, a leading global consumer internet company. In addition to SeaMoney, Sea’s other core businesses include the leading e-commerce platform, Shopee, and its digital entertainment arm, Garena.

What will you do?

• Assist to establish Regulatory Compliance framework and ensure strong Senior Management and Board of Directors accountability and oversight
• Develop strong compliance culture and structure to provide reasonable assurance of compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and practices
• Collaborate with all business and risk management units to provide oversight and guidance over  the assessment of regulatory issues and new product initiatives
• Monitor regulatory changes and concerns to identify new and emerging compliance risk areas
• Maintain strong relationships with banking regulators and other regulatory authorities
• Support in all internal and external audit/information requests.

Compensation & benefits

About you

Shopee looks for the following requirements in you:

• Minimum three (3) months internship period.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Law or a relevant course in a recognized university
• Prior experience in direct interaction with regulatory authorities and/or prior working experience in regulatory authorities preferred but not required
• Proactive, can-do attitude; able to work effectively with those internal and external stakeholders
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly understand complex issues and provide well-thought-through solutions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while managing various stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of verbal and written English and Malay language.
