About PwC Malaysia

PricewaterhouseCoopers is an international professional services brand of firms, operating as partnerships under the PwC brand and is considered one of the Big Four accounting firms, along with Deloitte, EY, and KPMG. In Malaysia, PwC employs more than 3,000 people in seven locations (i.e. Kuala Lumpur, Pulau Pinang, Ipoh, Melaka, Johor Bahru, Labuan, and Kuching) who are dedicated to solving the complex problems businesses are facing today's changing market place.

Your role

At a certain point in your studies, you are making decisions about your future career considering all kinds of information, and listening to friends and close people, but there is nothing like your own experience.

An internship at PwC not only offers an opportunity to build your skills and confidence, but also to work on client projects that give you insight into who we are and what we do whether for PwC clients, the economy, or the wider community. Working alongside specialists in your chosen business area, you’ll be a valued member of the team, with graduate-level responsibility.

You’ll be assigned to client projects to develop your understanding of what PwC really does and you’ll build networks with your colleagues and peer groups. Whichever business area you choose, PwC is sure you’ll find this a worthwhile investment of your time. Be it the clients; the people; the networks; or the social events, you’ll be surprised at the skills you’ll develop and how much you’ll learn. Opportunity is at the heart of a career at PwC and this Internship offers just that.

Responsibilities

As an Intern/Trainee, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.

  • You’ll be a part of an environment that broadens your functional training, and personal and technical skills and deepens your knowledge of client services. You’ll play an integral role in supporting staff as needed for an outstanding variety of work and making contributions to the team on a daily basis.
  • In order to succeed, you need to be creative and analytical; dynamic and collaborative; a strategic thinker, and possess a consistent passion to learn.
  • Participate in select phases of tax compliance engagements.
  • Participate in select projects; demonstrate creative thinking and individual initiative.
  • Contribute to collaborative teamwork, through working effectively as a team member: understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback.
  • Flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks; and communicating potential conflicts to a supervisor.

Training, development & rotations

PwC offers job & training, an employee assistance program, and an apprenticeship program for their employees to develop their potential and achieve a higher professional level.

Career progression

We don't get sufficient information about career progression for this internship program. However, if your performance during the internship is exceptional, you'll be likely to be prioritized when the company opens for recruitment in the future.

Generally, when you've been officially hired as a full-time employee at PwC, you can expect a clearly structured career path and rapid career progression. Typically, you’ll spend 2-3 years at each level (Associate, Senior Associate, Manager, and Director)* as you progress toward Partner. Please note that there may be some minor variations in the levels in some countries.
