Your role

In this role, you will support the Operations Research Engineers in:

  • Designing, developing, and applying engineering, mathematical models, simulation, and optimization models to drive solutions to complex manufacturing and supply chain problems.
  • Identifying and solving highly complex problems in factory performance, loading, equipment performance, decision science, and, supply and distribution network problems.
  • Require a thorough understanding of the factory (Fab and A/T) environment and supply chain knowledge to develop complex engineering models and apply them to identify and drive solutions.
  • Building, developing, validating, and applying mathematically based decision algorithms, heuristics, optimization, and simulation models and tools.
  • Working closely with the business units to identify root causes, define the strategic and tactical needs, and drive the appropriate business and technical solutions.
  • Developing solutions to problems utilizing formal technical training, business knowledge, and judgment.

Work-life balance

The regular office hours are from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Saturday and for the shift, working hours will be 12 hours (7 am to 7 pm). However, Intel applies flexible working hours as well, so you can work within flexible hours as long as the work is well delivered. Specifically for this role, you will be eligible for Intel's hybrid work model which allows you to split your time between working on-site at your assigned Intel site and off-site.

About you

To apply for this role, you must be a student who is currently pursuing a degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Management Science, or a related discipline with experience in deterministic/stochastic optimization modeling and programming.

This experience should Include the following:

  • Solid Operations Research OR knowledge, especially Linear Programming (LP), Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), Constraints Programming (CP), etc.
  • Familiarity with commercial optimization/constraints programming tools such as ILOG CPLEX, Concert, Gurobi, etc.
  • Programming experience in C# and LP/MIP solvers
  • Demonstrated work and familiarity with database management systems, such as SQL Server, etc.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Good understanding of supply chain management/operations management, especially production planning and execution.
  • Strong problem-solving and analysis skills. Ability to identify root causes of problems and synthesize effective practical solution approaches, implementing these solutions under the tactical pressure of producing a plan.
  • Committed and highly motivated team player with strong communication skills.
