Your role

As a Facilities Ultrapure Water Technician at Intel Malaysia, your primary responsibilities are as follows:

  • Conducts sampling and analysis of various water facility systems like UltraPure Water (UPW), Liquid Industrial Waste systems (LIWS), and Industrial wastewater systems (IWT).
  • Helps operate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial water, waste, and chemical-related issues that can impact water quality across any water systems like reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange, ultrafiltration, Ultraviolet light sterilization, wastewater, cooling towers condenser water, chilled water, process chilled water (PCW), steam boilers, heat exchangers, air scrubbers, water spraying systems for outside air units, air handlers, and industrial waste systems.
  • Provides practical and day-to-day interpretation of analytical instruments to determine the quality and health of water such as ion chromatography, Differential Microbio Analysis (DMA), particle size and count, etc.
  • Helps in working and coordinating with third-party analytical laboratories to sample, ship, and obtain results of collected samples.
  • Assists in preparing technical reports to present to a wide array of audiences, both technical and non-technical about the initiatives and performance of the water treatment division.
  • Supports in implementing novel analysis and new methods to improve result accuracy, turnaround times, and cost, and writing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) relating to sampling and analysis.

Work-life balance

The regular office hours are from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Saturday and for the shift, working hours will be 12 hours (7 am to 7 pm). However, Intel applies flexible working hours as well, so you can work within flexible hours as long as the work is well delivered. Specifically for this role, you will be required to work on-site within 12 hours rotating day/night shift.

About you

  • Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English
  • Fresh Graduates are encouraged to apply or 1-2 years of experience with semiconductor UPW facilities systems operation including Polished, Advanced Oxidation Processes, Soft Water Systems, Litho UPW, Reverse Osmosis Products, Reverse makeup and recycled UPW systems will be an advantage.
  • Willing to work 12 hours rotating day/night shift schedule in a clean room environment.
  • The position is based in Penang
